Ingredients
  • ¼ of a pineapple or a 14 ounce cans pineapple tidbits ( drained and reserve the juice)
  • 180 mL H20
  • 1.5 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves ( minced, or to taste)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 60 mL ketchup
  • 30 mL brown sugar
  • 60 mL white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoons soy sauce
  • pepper
Instructions
  1. Directions
  2. Drain cans of pineapple over a bowl or use H2O
  3. Add/whisk in cornstarch until smooth and combined
  4. In a small saucepan heat oil over medium-low heat; add in garlic and a small pinch cayenne pepper; stir for 2 minutes
  5. Add in ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar and soy sauce; cook stirring until simmering.
  6. Add in the juice/cornstarch mixture; bring to a boil, stirring or whisking constantly until thickened
  7. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes
  8. Mix in the pineapple
  9. Season with pepper to taste if desired
