Ingredients
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 T sugar
  • 4 tsp bk pwd
  • ½ c shortening
  • 1 btn egg ⅓ c milk
  • ½ lb bulk sausage
  • 4 T flour
  • 2½ c milk -
Instructions
  1. sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  2. combine egg and milk and stir until dough follows fork around bowl.
  3. Turn on to lighty floured surface knead gently .
  4. roll out to ¾ " thick
  5. cut out biscuits bake at 450 for 10 to 14 min or til golden brown.
  6. Sausage: cook sausage crumbling well - pour off all but 2 - 3 T of grease. sprinkle flour on top - increase heat and cook stirring until flour starts to brown - add milk stirring constantly and continue cooking until gravy thickens . Add salt and pepper. Serve over biscuits.
