Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 1 T sugar
- 4 tsp bk pwd
- ½ c shortening
- 1 btn egg ⅓ c milk
- ½ lb bulk sausage
- 4 T flour
- 2½ c milk -
Instructions
- sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- combine egg and milk and stir until dough follows fork around bowl.
- Turn on to lighty floured surface knead gently .
- roll out to ¾ " thick
- cut out biscuits bake at 450 for 10 to 14 min or til golden brown.
- Sausage: cook sausage crumbling well - pour off all but 2 - 3 T of grease. sprinkle flour on top - increase heat and cook stirring until flour starts to brown - add milk stirring constantly and continue cooking until gravy thickens . Add salt and pepper. Serve over biscuits.
